Wednesday, October 29, 2003 - Whereas, there are a great number of people with no health insurance in the State of New Jersey and many of these people are unable to access state health insurance programs; and

Whereas, these people are not sick enough to require emergency room care and do not know where to turn for services, and appeal to the local churches for help; and

Whereas, the Zarephath Health Center was established to serve as a resource for the churches to provide health care, medications, and emotional and spiriutal support for families in difficult circumstances; and

Whereas, the Zarephath Health Center provides volunteer physicians, nurses, counselor, financial advisors, and other support people to provide a comprehensive package of services for families in crisis; and

Whereas, the Zarephath Health Center has demonstrated the tremendous dedication and initiative to provide needed services to the community,

Now, therefore, I, Willis F. Sumter, Mayor of the Township of Franklin, County of Somerset, State of New Jersey, on behalf of the Township Council and citizens of the Township of Franklin, do hereby commend ZAREPHATH HEALTH CENTER for its service to the community.
